The Buyers said that the Pearl was only worth so much, because the pearl was soon to lose its value. Yet the more buyers he saw, the more opinions he got on its price. He wanted the amount of money for what he thought it was worth. As buyers came in and started to make bids, Kino just kept wanting more. In order for Kino to sell the pearl and pay the doctor for treating his son for the scorpian sting, he had to have buyers. The buyers had more influence over Kino than they may have realized. In the book The Pearl, by John Steinbeck, the story ends in tragedy when Coyotito is killed and Kino destroys the precious pearl. But who is to blame for the tragedy? Is it the trackers, the pearl buyers, the pearl itself, the Spaniards, the townspeople, Kino, Juana, or a combination of the above? Argue your answer in a five-paragraph essay.
